Today is World Nutella Day. No joke. Don't act surprised, it is one of the most favored sweet spreads which appears on everything from crepes to chicken. When I was in college I lived in France for a trimester with a crazy French family that had eight kids, two of which were married and lived at home, and when I first arrived they looked utterly horrified when I broke out the laptop I had brought with me (they had never seen a laptop before?), mon dieu! I could go on forever about those weirdos and how they locked their computer so their kids couldn't use the internet, but today isn't Crazy French People day, it's Nutella day! Anyway, every day at around 4PM when the kids came home from school, they would slather up a portion of fresh baguette with a healthy dose of Nutella. I always thought it was so interesting that their mother didn't consider the Nutella a dessert, rather a condiment like butter or cream cheese.
