Looking for less mess? Clean while you cook by simply using a crock pot primer!

Slow-Cookers or crock pots sound like the stuff of fairy tales. Place ingredients in pot. Cover. Walk away. Return and dinner is served. No need to stir or even be in the room. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy the fairy tale.
Lightly spray the inside of your crock pot with non-stick spray or use a disposable, plastic liner. (You can find them in most markets.) You’ll keep foods from sticking and make clean up speedy. Fill your crock pot at least halfway, but no more than three-quarters full, making sure vegetables – which take longer to cook, are on the bottom. Crock pots’ long cooking times can dilute the flavor of ground and dried spices so add them in the last hour or so of cooking. Resist the temptation to lift the lid. You’ll need to add about 10 minutes to your cooking time for every peek.
