The banana. Quite a modest fruit. Once deemed exotic, now considered everyday. Did you know that a single banana has supernatural powers? Well, maybe not supernatural but, bananas are a pretty amazing fruit. First off, don't refrigerate your banana. While urban legend states that the poisonous toxins in the banana skin can leek out into the edible part of a refrigerated bananas, that is merely just a legend, though bananas are best kept at room temperature. And, if you want to speed up the ripening process of a green banana, simple seal it in a brown paper bag. 

Bananas are a great way to satiate a sugar fix because they contain natural sugars sucrose, fructose, and glucose. Research has shown that two bananas provide enough energy for an intense 90-minute work out. Aside from providing natural sugars and energy, bananas are also looked up to prevent various illnesses and ailments. 

Depression: Bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that one's body can convert into serotonin which will generally make you feel happier.

Anemia: Bananas are super high in iron, thus they can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood. 

Blood Pressure: Bananas are also high in potassium and low in salt, the perfect fruit to beat high blood pressure. 

Hangovers: I wrote about this in my Hangover Cures article recently, and here we have it again. Bananas calm the stomach, help refresh depleted blood sugar and nutrient levels and also rehydrate your system. 

Mosquito Bites: How fun! Instead of rubbing an artificial lotion on your skin, try rubbing the itchy/irritated area with the inside of a banana. 

Stress: Remember, bananas are very high in potassium and potassium is believed to normalize the heartbeatand send oxygen to the brain. When people get stressed their potassium levels drop so by adding in more potassium from a banana or coconut, it helps one de-stress. 

Stroke: According to research in The new England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can reduce the risk of death by stroke by as much as 40%!

whenever we play tough badminton games, our coach advise us to take at least one banana half an hour before the game....it really works!!
