Wow, I am obsessed with Mberry, the miracle fruit! I wrote a blog post last month on this red berry that, once consumed, has the ability to make sour tasting foods taste sweet. When I wrote the post I had never tried the berry, however a representative from Mberry reached out to me and sent over some samples. Mberry is actually a red tablet (0 calories) made from miracle fruit powder and cornstarch, tastes a bit like a berry, a bit funky, and after it dissolves on your tongue it's supposed to make lemons, apples, chili peppers all taste sweet. So, obviously I tried it out. I ate one of the red tablets, then went for some scrambled eggs. The eggs tasted slightly sweeter but not hugely different. Next I came across some pickles which were VERY sour last time I had a bite, and when I tried them they tasted completely sweet! To the point where I started to wonder whether they had actually ever tasted sour. I can't wait to go home and eat a lemon! Really though, eating an Mberry is a great way to taste something sweet without actually adding sugar or Splenda or any of those artificial substitutes. I'm hooked! Check out the Mberry site for more info, or score your own here.
