Why am I absolutely NOT surprised about this. Caked up chickens that live sad lives without the ability to freely move around is truly just another type of animal cruelty...and McDonald's couldn't care less. "McDonald's board of director has recommended that the company's shareholders vote against a measure requiring the chain to get 5 percent of its eggs from cage-free birds because there just doesn't seem to be enough science to support such a change in policy." While on the other hand, the EU has passed a law banning these horrible bird cages starting 2012, so McDonald's in Europe will use 100 percent cage-free eggs by the end of this year. But here in this country, of course, it's all about saving money and cutting costs...ridiculous. [VV]
