One episode down, nine to go!  And if you thought the first episode gave you heart palpitations, hold on to your hats.  Episode two is a circus! Well, more accurately, a carnival. 

One of my favorite Food Network personalities is Duff Goldman, the host of Ace of Cakes.  I love that show, don't you?  I love how playful he and his team are, expressing their passion and their creativity through cake decoration.  And yet, these guys are no slackers.  They're full-on worker bees, putting in long hours, paying excruciating attention to detail for something that, let's be honest here, is going to be down someone's gullet and into their tummy in about five minutes.  It's awe-inspiring!  Especially when you realize how the consumers of said cake will never forget the Ace of Cakes masterpiece they just guzzled. 

Even though Duff's trademark guffaw put us all at ease that morning, his challenge was no laughing matter.  He brought with him the legendary Zoltar, which those of you who've visited the Santa Monica Pier will no doubt recognize... the creepy vaguely-Arabian fortune teller decided which carnival sweet we'd be working with, transforming it into a savory morsel.  Imagine my dismay when I got something I'd never had before.  Oh no!  Will I be able to handle it?  And how will we fare with making enough to feed 100 people?! You'll just have to watch and see!
