What is it? Well, the name pretty much sums it up: snow + cream = ice cream made from snow. Much of the country just experienced massive amounts of snow, so what better way to play with snow than to make fresh ice cream!
Basically, snow cream is freshly fallen snow plus some milk, sugar, and flavoring. Think about it. Ice cream is just crystals of milk, sugar, eggs, and flavoring all mixed together and then aerated. Snow is aerated water crystals so we just have to add the rest of the ingredients to transform it into ice cream or...sorbet!
Tip: When harvesting your snow, make sure to take fresh snow from the top of the pile. Nobody wants to eat dirty snow.
Snow Cream
About a gallon of fresh snow (it will reduce in volume)
1 cup milk or cream
1/2 cup sugar
