Hoisin Honey Glazed Chicken Wings
Serves six to eight as an appetizer
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger (about 2" long piece of ginger)
4 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
freshly ground black pepper
24 whole chicken wings
Bring the marinade ingredients to a low simmer and then allow to cool. In a zip lock freezer bag, add the cooled off marinade. Add the chicken wings and massage until all wings are coated evenly with the marinade. Squeeze as much of the air out of the bag is possible, seal and refrigerate to marinate one hour to overnight.
Prepare the grill for direct grilling and preheat to heat zones (medium and high). Remove the chicken from the bag, reserving the sauce. Place the sauce into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium-low heat for a few minutes until it becomes thick.
Place the chicken on the hot grate and grill over the medium heat zone for 5-7 minutes on each side. Shortly before the chicken wings are done, move to the high heat zone. Turn the chicken wings if you times and base regularly with the holy see honey glaze until both sides are evenly done in this skin becomes crispy.
Alternatively, you can bake the wings. Preheat your oven to 375° and arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 35 minutes, or until cooked through. Based with the thickened and cooked sauce periodically.
