Watch: Let's face it, although everyone of us likes to claim that we anticipate the 4th because of the fun, fireworks and friends, we all know it's about the food. Juicy burgers, crunchy corn and cherry pie, these are the things that really pop into our minds when we think about Independence Day. Good Bite bloggers walk you through the essentials for the summer holiday. Todd and Diane's spicy burgers are perfectly offset by David's easy, sweet cobbler. Jeanne's tips should help cut your prep time in half. Now you can spend more time half-listening to friends, while secretly salivating over the plump hot dogs on the grill.

The burger looks great. 4th of july is about tradition. Love the chemistry between Todd and Diane!

I like the burger idea. There was too much discussion over which end of the green bean is which. The salad looks good, though.

Burger, salad and cobbler look great. But I'll take my watermelon in big slices, not tiny skewers with leaves and cheese. Make sure it's the watermelon with pits!

I agree that cutting the watermelon into little chunks cuts the fun of eating watermelon. The burger looks great and the cobbler recipe is very versatile.

Tried the burgers with garlic, though with my own "secret" sauce. Excellent!
