The Ultimate Grilled Cheese Train Wreck

Now, the flavor profile might strike seem odd but it works! The rich chocolate hazelnut flavor in the Nutella plus the creamy/tanginess in the brie with the smooth fruity banana and crunchy toffee bits create an unparalleled sandwich experience.

The Stuff of (Neiman Marcus) Legends

I love chocolate chip cookies and am a total snob when it comes to baking them. Over time, I have tested dozens of recipes for the most classic cookie flavor known to man, and very few have satisfied my taste buds. I like my chocolate chips cookies to be buttery with a soft, but not chewy, texture. They should be sweet, but not overly so, and, of course, bursting with a rich chocolate taste.

Contest: The Stranger Side of Baking

Friday, August 7 2009

In Good Bite's Top 5 Strange (but Delicious) Chocolate Chip Cookie Ingredients we touted the merits of turning this old standby on its head by using bizarrely delectable ingredients. Jalapenos, ginger, fleur du sel, pineapple and bacon (sounds like the allowance list of a trendy diet) rounded out the top cookie-invigorating ingredients. The following mini-manifesto is just a few suggestions to help spice up your cookie, should you feel a bit wild one night. Walnuts, M&Ms, peanut butter chips? Things of the past. Best Yellow Layer Cake by Deb

We may be all for convenience and simplicity at Good Bite, but we have a special place in our stomachs for food made with love. We feel wrong opening a package of prefab baked goods and welcoming them into our homes. We like to add a personalized touch to this part of the meal by constructing cookies, cakes and muffins with flour, sugar, butter and eggs from our own pantries. That's why we love this easy, from-scratch recipe for Vanilla Cake with Sour Cream-Chocolate Frosting brought to us by Deb.

Chocolate Chips, Cookies and Cakes

Tuesday, August 4 2009

We've occasionally flirted with our unbridled love of all sweets in the (web)pages of Good Bite: a cookie recipe here, a Berry Cobbler there. But, we are yet to unleash the cake pan-wielding, sugar craving, oven obsessed Mr. Hyde that lurks just beneath the surface of our sensible, vegetarian lasagna-suggesting demeanor. Well, that all changes this week.

Bittersweet One-Pot Brownies

Friday, July 24 2009 - by Jeanne Kelley, from Blue Eggs and Yellow Tomatoes

Bittersweet One-Pot Brownies

The brownies we made together were so easy, why would anyone use a mix? I developed this recipe using half a bar of a dark chocolate from Trader Joe’s, but it’s amazing when made with a 9.7-ounce bar of Scharffen Berger Semi-sweet or Bittersweet. I've given this recipe (which I've memorized) to many parents.
