Todd and Diane say: "Packed with flavor, these grilled burgers will be a hit at your next bbq. Seasoned with a touch of fresh garlic and dressed with fresh, easy-to-make BBQ sauce makes these burgers outstanding!"

Yield 6-8 servings

Prep Time 1 hr.

Ingredients

  • For the burgers:
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed (add more garlic for the bold!)
  • fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • sea salt

  • For the sauce:
  • 3 Tbs Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Lrg Sweet Onion, finely diced
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, mashed
  • 1/2 c Pineapple, finely diced
  • 1/2 c Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 c Ketchup, our Asian Ketchup works great
  • 1/2 c Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 3 Tbs Worcestershire
  • 1 1/2 Tbs Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tbs Brown sugar
  • 2 Tbs Molasses
  • 1 Tbs Deli Mustard
  • 1 Tbs dry Hot Mustard
  • 1 Thai Chili
  • 1 tsp Sriracha Hot Sauce
  • 1 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 c Water
  • Fresh Ground Pepper

Directions

Step 1
For the sauce: Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic and saute for a few minutes until soft. Add the remaining ingredients, then continue to cook for 15 more minutes. Taste for seasoning and adjust individual ingredients to create a nice balance between the flavor elements. Allow to cool a bit. If a finer texture is desired, puree in a blender, then strain and store. Otherwise, after cool, store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Step 2
Gently mix beef, garlic and pepper. Form patties.

Step 3
Right before grilling, season patties with sea salt on both sides. Oil grill grate, then grill! Assemble, top with sauce and serve.
